Terran Sandwith Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Terran learned the construction business literally from the ground up by apprenticing under his father, GS founder Glen Sandwith. He started in the field as a project manager and estimator, while learning the roles and responsibilities of every job at the company.
Now as CEO, Terran’s primary focus is on a long-term strategy. Terran Sandwith implements and executes the strategic vision into an actionable plan, ensuring that these plans are effectively carried out among GS Construction and its affiliated businesses.
Terran is a graduate of York University’s Schulich School of Business, and earned an Executive MBA from Queen’s University.
Mike Durdle President
Mike has worked his way up through the organization from the bottom to the top at GS Construction through hard work, focus on continuous growth and consistent leadership over the last 20 years. He started as a labourer in 2004, moving to Topman, Junior Foreman, Foreman, Superintendent, and then Project Manager. Now, Mike is responsible for the overall leadership and management of GS Construction, including culture and people management, operations, and project execution.
In addition to project oversight, Mike manages our equipment and truck fleet, and ensures that all our personnel are upholding the values and standards of GS Construction.
Ryan Thompson Senior Vice President
Ryan came to GS Construction in 2012 after coming over from Associated Engineering as a consultant. Ryan was hired to help secure a long-term contract with EPCOR Water, and once that was accomplished, he has overseen the execution and renewal of that contract, as well as our growth in work with EPCOR Drainage ever since.
Ryan’s relentless focus on client relations, safety excellence and continuous improvement in all aspects of project delivery has elevated our operations throughout the organization as an industry leader. Ryan will continue to focus on operational excellence and continuous improvements throughout the entire organization.
Ryan holds an Environmental Engineering Degree from Norwich University in Vermont, where he played for their Division III hockey program.
